Which Dawg?

Our family is thinking of getting a dog. Originally, we were supposed to consider my cousin's friend's dogs, two short-haired Chihuahuas. One male, one female. But that's now out of the window since my mom didn't like either of them. One was fat and another a scared-y wimp. So she's now considering buying a dog which is nice looking so she will be motivated to look after it. One of her choices is the Short Haired Chihuahua. Of course, a NICE looking one...

Another would be the grander looking Long Haired Chi, ala Sir Kaiser the Great Emperor. Definitely has a certain air to it, but well, I have to conceed that this breed is better looking than its short haired cousins.

Now there's one proud pooch for you. If we DO indeed get a Chi, let it be a long haired I suppose. But uggh, hair! Long haireds shed all over the place... Oh bother.

Another option is the cheap-to-buy Sydney Silky Terrier. Its another toy-breed dog, quite cute really. But it still has the hair thing going with it. Doesn't it look sweet? And its doing an agility course, how cute can that be?

I suppose this one is a show dog with its coat all sparkling and shiny. I'm sure our dog will never reach that stage of show-off-ness if we DO get a Sydney Silky.

But when we went to the pet shop earlier, I loved loved loved the Italian Greyhound! Its a mini-mini version of a Greyhound. Its height is about 33cm at adulthood. Yeah, it costs 2.1K, but its well worth the price I think. This thing could actually get me off my ass to go running or something.

How cute can a Italian Greyhound get?! Its even smaller than a Whippet! So you can imagine how small that is. Totally love this breed. And its a rare one too!

So, which dog to get? If I had my way, the Italian Greyhound would be bagged. But my mom is pushing for either the Chi-s or the Sydney Silky. Dad is grumpy that we didn't just get Kuro and ChaCha. Sigh. Then again, I wonder IF we will even get a dog...
