GK21

Yay, I've finished watching GK21. Its the anime I'm talking about if ya don't know. The sequel to Gatekeepers. Uhm, after watching the entire 3 hours of the show, I have more questions than answers to previous questions. I guess it has to do with the story. The story has its strengths and weaknesses.

In a nutshell...
The invaders are back, this time probably an even worse problem than before. The AEGIS base at Tategami (sp?) High was destroyed in the last episode of the prequel. It was never rebuilt. So, the gatekeepers work as an undercover operation. They kill the invaders and this time, the invaders dissolve into these sort of crystals. The remnants of what used to be humans, infected humans.

Ayane finds another gatekeepers, and grooms her. She's a klutz though, and when she learns of the truth behind the invaders, she feels kinda sick. Sick that she's actually supposed to annihilate human beings.

Then another gatekeeper is called in. She's cocky and possess the gate with the ability to call up weapons. The three, together with their commander and Yukino, form this season's gate keeping squad. Sort of pathetic eh? Then again, with only 6 episodes to the series, there's not much to expect.

Its true, the reviews said that the story was dark. It is dark. The story could've been better I guess. But that's me, who likes script writing, talking... Like where did the former keepers end up? We know about Shun, but its not explained totally. What about Ruriko? Reiko? Fieye? Bancho? Hmmmm.... We know what happened to Kageyama (Kajiyama?). What about Megumi?

And its surprising, that after the big fight in 1969/1970, the Japanese public doesn't know, or has forgetten about the gate keeper squad...
