Dear Nan,
Today I found the card you sent last year. Actually, the last card you sent to me. I remember you painted the picture of the front. What wonders a year more can bring. I totally miss you.

Love,
Jono.

Dear Bro,
Sometimes things that should be kept away are found and brought up again. I still have the packaging from last year. Sigh, miss ya man.

Love,
Kid bro.

M18! M18! M18!

Today the spec dippers went to watch "The Departed" as part of scriptwriting class. It was fun really although the class didn't exactly spend very much time together. Let's talk about the movie first. Okay, so I watched my first M18 movie legally faster than my first NC16 movie. It felt kinda good, lol.

The movie was vuglar and graphic. Haha, that was new for me. All the f***in kinda made it hard for me to follow the dialogue though. But got used to it after awhile. The Departed is an acquired taste I'd say. The movie moves linearly but it doesn't appear so. Quick cuts make it seem fast paced at the beginning but then the scenes get longer and longer.

The ending was good. I kinda liked it. Haha. I suppose since its on its end run, its safe for me to say? Aight, aight. Let's use the highlight still shall we? The sudden twists, one after the other and the avenging then closing with the shot of the rat on the balcony. Cheeky! Haha.

Being media students, we cannot help but scrutinise the film. Several continuity errors and jump cuts were super obvious. It was annoying. I saw at least two jump cuts. And one glaring editing mistake was leaving like a one second scene inside. Like when I do those intro vids and it isn't cut precisely and leaves a frame inside. Yeah, that kinda thing. Continuity errors included smoke when the person wasn't smoking and the toothpick not being put down and Leonardo DiCaprio's character then drinking coffee. Heh.

After that Shawn, Juan Hui, Jessica and I went to grab some bites at Carl's Junior. BIG. The chilli cheeseburger isn't really chilli, its mustard! Call it mustard cheeseburger at that rate. Okay, no more CJ for the next quarter year please. I don't need to put on anymore weight than I already have. And I went running tonight as a result to start this whole healthy lifestyle thing again. Yes, again. Sakae buffet on Thursday. May that be my only meal of the day! And I shall pace myself instead of gobbling like a turkey.

Enough is enough

Enough junk food and sweet drinks. I've been pigging on these, so no wonder my weight has been on the high end. Or what I call the high end which equals to my usual weight. Blah. OH oh oh, there's also this 2nd Link Bridge Run. I dunno whether to sign up for it or not. There's 2 categories, the competitive 10 km run and the 10 km fun run. Its this Sunday. So if I were to go, it'd be for the fun run and not the competitive surely. No way I can train and be good enough in what? 6 days? No way hose!

It'd be a good foot to get off on the healthy eating and dieting eh? And then when I move on Wednesday that same week, hopefully the swimming and gymming can start too. I need to get regular exercise not like the way I'm going now. At least it'll be walking 20 minutes to school and another 20 minutes back home. Enough is enough, enough junk food and sweet drinks. All, please do help me. Cut down on carbs too! Decrease input, increase output.

E-learning week

Another semester, another e-learning week. Life has its constants and variables, no? I've got all my songs playing of shuffle mode and its Coldplay's Beautiful World. That was a nice song. Blah, it gave way to American Idiot. Its like, the soothing emotistic sounds gave way to some punkish rock. Haha, what a total difference eh?

Tomorrow I'm supposed to help Frederick to buy and carry back his new books. Why not wait till we move so we only need to move these books once? Ah well.... But yeah, today was kind of a contemplative day. Spent the day thinking a lot about something and I came to the conclusion that I think about it too much and that if there's a will there's a way. So yeah, Heads Up and Stay Strong! Eh? ;)

Dear Nana,
I dunno, things seem to be going by so fast. I'm starting to claw to the days as they go by. I don't feel like growing up, I don't want to end poly-life. Its like L... I'm pretty much contented to be a student forever. But that's life eh? Time is weird, its been so long, yet such a short time... I mean, looking back, its like you've been gone for so long. But when I look at it again, its not even Christmas. Damn, I miss you so much.

Love,
Jono.

Dear bro,
There's so much I'd love to say, but I can never find how to express it. Y'know, I still miss ya. A lot. Sigh, I know yer there, we just gotta continue eh? Things were easier when you were here, you know what I mean. But I just remembered what you said, and that's right. I should hold onto that eh? I dunno how many times I've said it, but I'll say it again - thank you bro. Take care.

Love,
Kid bro.

I Still Love You Guys

Today I was just looking through the old video I did to remember Nana. I never finished it cause there weren't enough pictures.... But it still made me remember how much I loved her and now how much I still miss her cause she's not here anymore. Those pictures just brought back memories. I still remember how she used to speak and how she used to walk. She used to bake a lot and I remember her cakes.

I remember her cooking and that she used to wait up till late in the night for us to arrive at her house. And she'd always ask if we wanted things to drink or eat after that. I remember how she used to always have tea at 4 o' clock and how she used to play the piano at birthday parties when we were singing happy birthday. I remember how she loved for the birthday person to sing I say thank you too. So many memories...

I also think of ya bro, now and again. And I remember the fun times. Life never stays the same eh? But I remember you and what yer like. Your jokes, your pranks, your wisdom. All irreplaceable. Your helpfulness, your opinions.

I still love the both of you although you're not around any longer. I miss you guys so much too.

Shout Outs:
Dak: How're things going? Good? IMUB, ILUB.
Fano: Thanks for the hard work in the game. School's slowed down somewhat, so yeah should have more time I hope.
Regina, Kamesh, Carol, Xin Le: Reg, I'm happy with what happened yesterday. Hope it serves as a lesson for her and thanks for being so brutally honest with her. Perhaps it may be my turn next to talk to her. I dunno. But thank you guys.

Crush Week

This is the crush week where everyone is rushing for something or other, be it projects or CAs. I just completed my UCCD report. Good riddance with it! I took so long to do it up, blah. Its finally done. Now I need to print it and look through it, edit it so that it can be ready for submission.

A BIG thanks to Janice and Jing Yi for volunteering to do the power point for UCCD tutorial 6. Having MPP at the end of the week can be good and bad at the same time.

MPP pitching session is on Friday and I'm one of the presenters. Actually, I'm the "pitcher" so to speak. Sigh. Which means braving up to the course director and looking confident and all that stuff I have to tackle when presenting. I need to get over the nerves. A chill just went down my spine. Who'm I kidding? Sooner or later we'll have to do presentations, and not just to classmates but to clients.

Its the year 3 ICM presentations that woke me up really. I only then realised that we had to step up and speak up. And presentations are something you need to work at or else you're not going to get better at it. Yesterday was one, today was one. And Friday is another. Another thanks to Janice and Jing Yi for volunteering to present tomorrow.

Sigh, this week is draining. And its not like next week is a holiday exactly. What with assignments and being down for a lot of stuff... Then followed by common tests week with spec dip still on at Ms. Peter's insistance that classes continue even though it is common tests week.
