MTV day

Okay, today was purely work from the time we set foot into the IDEA tutorial room.

Break down of the day:
9-11: IDEA module
11-12: Do WP proposal for submission
12-2: DVPA tutorial
2-3: Complete NW for submission
3-4: Resume WP proposal
4-5: IPRA lecture

Therefore, after today, we are beat. I had to crash/die/collapse (or what ever adjective that means equivilent) sometime. It happened today. Haha, watched Spongebob and after that crashed for an hour. Sigh, exhausted.

Today (or more like yesterday), shall be known as the DMC MTV day. Haha. Yeah, we did an MTV during the DVPA lesson, believe it or not. The tape is with Doris for safe keeping. Basically, we all (with the exception of Dione, Alison, Regina) did the MTV thing. All in the blue screen area, whatever that is called. And Shaun was our director to this funky Chinese music.

Ah well... Whatever Shaun, never correograph MTVs in future. Hahahaha. At least that was something fun during the day. It was fun to watch too. Only... I HAD to wear the bright orange Fila shirt and make myself super obvious on camera. Why couldn't I choose a blue? Or black? Or green? Nevermind... Hahaha.

Shout Outs:
SHP, YT: IMUB, IMU, IMU...
Maria: Thought I'd mention ya too, it was fun catching up by messaging the other day.
L: Thanks cuz for, erm, agreeing to help.
Smack: Yer gonna be in my prayers tonight.

Early Morning

Aight, what will today bring? IDEA, DVPA, IPRA lessons. 2 tutorials, 1 lecture...

All of a sudden it seems as though I can't wait for S12. 0_0 Haha. Next February that is... Hmmmph. Three more episodes of Guatemala till dry Survivor season. Booo!

Okay, let's not digress here... IDEA, goodness knows what we're gonna do. DVPA, Arisya and Gajan, uh, I think we need to retake. Goodness, who's got the DV tape? Yeah, anyway, we will be doing a short filming exercise today. Hahahaha, we're the ones who go about the school with those cameras. IPRA, I wonder will I stay awake through the lecture. =) Anyhow, looks like another fulfilling day at school in store.

We have to find Ms. Pauline. We changed our Web Publishing project to "Movies" instead of shoes yesterday. Movies is a much better topic, haha. What's the website? My precious movies. Uhuh, Gollum! He's sorta our mascot. Haha. My Precioussssss Moviessssssssss!

Shout Outs:
SHP, YT: ILUB, MU!
Dak: Hey man, totally gotta tell me bout yer excursion thingy.
Dame: How you doin? =)
Fano: Hey, just sayin Hi to ya on here, thought I should mention ya.
Smack: Its good chatting to you sir.
L: Cuz, hang in there. School doesn't last forever. And, you'll find someone. You'll get over him I'm sure. I think yer being real sensible bout it and I'm sure that others would say the same. *hugs*
Raptor: Ok, now you know I prefer NFL and NHL over EPL, haha. Oh no, I dunno if I can go to Ava's wedding dude... T_T
Ava: I so wanna be there, but term 2 of my junior year in poly is in the way. Damn! Well, I'll see aight?

Tiredness...

NW is one hell of a module. I detest it now. Yuck! And to think that we have what? 4 weeks more this term and 6 weeks next. 10 weeks of this s***. Eww! Sorry Ms. Claire, its just that I've found I'm not interested in journalism no longer and this module, well, I guess you can make the connections. NEVERTHELESS, I will continue to do my best in it. I can't let my grades slip, especially this term. What with Econs and IPRA and WP and DVPA. No, no, no. I'll give all my best shot. 4 weeks in and I believe that I'm one of the few with 100% attendance at all classes.

School's making us all feel so dead... Uggh. Tiredness is sometimes something you have to plough through. I managed to keep awake through econs lecture today, I almost fell asleep. And econs is one module NO one should ever sleep in. Sigh. Let's just get this term over....

Anyway, Survivor...
Survivor 11: Guatemala
Episode 12: Price Of Immunity
- Lydia obviously starts talking to Judd, trying to break the alliance. Will she though?
- Obviously the family member episode (final 6 after all...)
- I'm thinking about the title. Does Judd win immunity and give it away and is then voted out?
- Is the immunity like the feast twist where you either have time with family or stay in for immunity?

Survivor 12: Panama (Pearl Islands)
Hmph. Just because All Stars wasn't a spectacular season doesn't mean this season will be crap as well. What the... Nevermind. But I must say Sucksters, you'd make good Singaporeans. "I will hate S12 because its in Panama again".

Freakin' busy!

Its been busy, busy, busy...

Well, firstly pei Chong and Swee Lin came down from Penang, so we had this big family dinner at 9+pm and then we went to their hotel. I think we came back at like past mid night. And I had school the next day, and STILL hadn't done my econs. Uhoh, I'm getting bad. Econs was the next day too. Good thing NW was pushed back for that field trip.

But I got to see my nieces and new nephew. Technically they're my nieces and nephew... Not directly. Li An, Li Lian and Ridley. Li An is talkative as usual, Li Lian is not very sociable and Ridley, he's just 5 months. Haha. I've another niece and nephew too. Chiew Yen's daughter is Emmanuel (Emmy), she's 3 and Pei Kern's son is Russel I think. A few months old?

Then, let's fast forward to friday. Friday, only half the class came for econs. Wow. Then we had the field trip to the SPH New Paper newsroom. Totally different from what I expected. And then down to Dhoby Ghaut for cell. Phew. Busy right?

Yesterday was sitting around at home and church. Going out with Yessie and Mun soon, so I'll needa get ready.

Personal Campaign

Song of today: Always [Bon Jovi]

This Romeo is bleeding
But you can't see his blood
It's nothing but some feelings
That this old dog kicked up.

It's been raining since you left me
Now I'm drowning in the flood
You see I've always been a fighter
But without you I give up.

Now I can't sing a love song
Like the way it's meant to be
Well I guess I'm not that good anymore
But baby that's just me.

And I will love you baby always
And I'll be there forever and a day always
I'll be there till the stars don't shine
Till the heavens burst and the words don't rhyme
And I know when I die you'll be on my mind
And I'll love you always.

Now your pictures that you left behind
Are just memories of a different life
Some that made us laugh
Some that made us cry
One that made you have to say good bye.

What I'd give to run my fingers through your hair
To touch your lips to hold you near
When you say your prayers try to understand
I've made mistakes I'm just a man.

When he holds you close
When he pulls you near
When he says the words
You've been needing to hear
I'll wish I was him with those words of mine
To say to you till the end of time.

And I will love you baby always
And I'll be there forever and a day always
If you told me to cry for you I could
If you told me to die for you I would
Take a look at my face
There's no price I won't pay
To say these words to you.

Well there ain't no luck in these loaded dice
But baby if you give me just one more try
We can pack up our old dreams and our old lives
We'll find a place where the sun still shines.

And I will love you baby always
And I'll be there forever and a day always
I'll be there till the stars don't shine
Till the heavens burst and the words don't rhyme
And I know when I die you'll be on my mind
And I'll love you always.

We were waiting for the rest to come, at the drop off at T19 today when this song played. Its nice eh? I think y'all agree with me. I love the piano in this one.

Anyway, okay, I've got a personal campaign, one for myself that is. What's it?

"What's the rush? Slow down!"

I need to take things less slowly, not get swallowed up by the busy life. No, that doesn't mean I throw things down and slack around, no. It means I deliberately take time to enjoy the day as it goes, whatever I am doing. Slower steps, walk slowly, take time to look around, appreciate. Don't rush for trains, the next one is a matter of minutes away only. Yep. And its nice to be able to take things slowly for a change.

Everyone has 24 hours a day, no one has more. Work loads may vary amongst people, but... Everyone seems to get everything done on time don't they? I've got my DVPA presentation prep underway and under control. Econs will be tackled next, after TAR and DVPA. I can get used to this. Compare Australians and Singaporeans. They both have the same number of hours a day. I'm sure if you compare certain jobs, there's even about just as much work too. And who's more relaxed eh? Australians aight?

They take things slower. Yeah, like, look. Their shops close at 5pm. They've got no where to go after 5 at that rate. What do they do? SIt around at home and pace (like my brother when he's bored)? Hell no! I mean, its just that we should sit back and just lay around doing nothing sometimes. Appreciate time. Why do kids get bored, okay, I mean teens, when there's nothing going on? They haven't learnt to take life at a slower pace. Something must always be going on to make life fulfilling.

But voids are just as good, provided that you know how to occuupy it. I think I'm talking about the same thing in a circle, so, I'll stop my rant now. Have fun taking time slowly and enjoying it. =) I know I did. What's the rush for? Slow down.

Advertising Campaign

6 ads you can come up with during boring IPRA lecture:
1. The SBS Transit ad
- Double deckr bus with wrap ad on exterior
-"IPRA is boring. (This is advertising)"
- SBS Transit media

2. The billboard ad
- Classic by-the-road bill board with headlamps for night viewing
- "IPRA is boring. (This is advertising)"

3. The MRT ad
- One of those boards they slot in the spaces with advertisements printed
- "IPRA is boring. Don't take it. (This is advertising)"
- SMRT media

4. The newspaper ad
- Bottom quarter of page
- "IPRA is boring. Don't take it or sleep. (This is advertising)"
- SPH media

5. The TV ad
- Television commercial
- "We interupt this programme because URGENT MESSAGE IPRA is boring. (This is advertising)"
- MediaCorp

6. The poster ad
- One of those boxes that often line the underpasses here
- "IPRA is boring. Don't take it. (This is advertising)"
- JCDecaux

Carol also came up with a few. I feel like I was making a few statements, lol.

Argh, I hate these headaches. I'm feeling tired. I've got a web publishing test tomorrow and I can't practice cause the HTML codes are on the e-learning and THIS DARN LAPTOP CAN'T ACCESS THE E-LEARNING! And my rents aren't home to key in the password. Then there's the DVPA presentation to prepare for. I hate formal wear!

Messy

Well, what do ya know? Its mid-term already. Yep. Term's going good, haven't missed a single lesson so far, make up or real lesson. Okay, originally wanted to title this post "Mid Term, Goals, Talent time and Travel" but thought its kinda meh.

Anyway, on that note... Goals. Yep. Okay, this term I am gonna try for 100% attendance. Ie. no skipping lectures/tutorials unless they are canceled. That means no LOA (MCs). =) Lemme try, lemme try. Haha, challenge time, here I come! Erm, gonna try to run everyday, regardless of what time dinner is. Yup. OH, when I checked my weight today, guess what? It was 65! My target, I've actually met it! Woohoo!!!

Next, uh, Talent time. Yep. Whooo!!! Go Khay! Go Arisya! Yep, today they went up for talent time, the group category. Original composition by one of their mates I think, titled "Super Human Me". Awesome guitaring Arisya, great singing Khay!

Travel. Yep, er, Uncle Kit's nephew from Thailand was over this week. Vidya (sp?) was staying at our place since he was going for an interview with Dr. Ong at the ACS (Independant). That meant a whole uprooting. I was moved to mom's and dad's room, Frederick was on the sofa. Vidya was a nice guy, kinda quiet though. Rather well behaved, an excellent guest. =) AT just 13 years, he's taking his own flights from Bangkok, Thailand all the way here. 0_0 Whoa! Independant kid!

Yeah, so y'know the whole thing. GO to the airport, think of flying. Where you'd want to fly... And then, thinking that yer family's gonna be doing it in a month's time, but without you. Ah well... One day. One day. I will save enough, and do some of my own travelling. I wish I had some frequent flyer mileage though, so I could just jetison away somewhere. Sigh....

Shout Outs:
SHP, YT: ILUB, MU!!!
Dame: How's things going?
Fano: Thank ye for yer words t'day.
L: I'm gonna miss seein' ya this x'mas cuz.... X'mas here sux!

Am I okay...?

Okay, so I've cleaned up the house, made the bed, washed the clothes and everything's nice now. =)

I cooked my own lunch today. Nothing glamourous, just porridge. With minced pork and ommelette. Okay, so glamourous might not be the best word. Lol. Nothing to be proud of I guess.

Its easy to get frustrated with yerself eh? Like, I'm kinda mentally scolding myself for not being more disciplined to exercise everyday, not just when I feel like it. Or to watch what I eat everyday. I wish I had more discipline. I hate it when I look at myself and se unfit. Bleah. I wish I would stop whining about it and do something. Damn...

Survivor's nearly ending....

Survivor today rocked. Awesome episode. =D

Episode 10: Eating and Sleeping with the enemy
The title is kinda misleading. I suppose it refers to the reward that Judd, Gary, Step-On-Me, and Danni won. A night's stay at a private house (hence eating and sleeping with the enemy, Gary & Danni Yaxha against Step-On-Me & Juddhead Nakum). Jamie was such a prick. Hey, it's aliteration! Paranoid prick!!! Whoooo. Haha. I'm glad yer off. =P

Episode 11: Everything Is Personal
Prediction: Gary is out.
Title is a quote from Judd. They voted Jamie out this episode, so I 'm guessing next time round Judd will blow his top that his ally is gone and he wasn't informed. He will take it out on Gary. Cause Gary is there when he would have been voted out. And without immunity he is still there. Hence my prediction of Gary's ousting.

Episode 12: Price Of Immunity
Analysis: I have a feeling this is Judd's ousting. He wins immunity in ep11 and since he did so then, they couldn't vote him off. But in ep12 he doesn't win immunity, thus making him the target to oust. I hope he goes. Soon.

Good news though, for suvivor junkies. S12 is supposedly airing Feb 6. CBS has ordered S13 and S14 to be filmed, securing another year and a half for Survivor. YAY!

Anyway, everyone's rushing for the econs tutorial and NW assignment tonight. Managed to do it pretty quick. =D Now I have the DVPA TV commercial to come up with. Beach party, thanks for the idea Ally!

Beach party + salsa party + teens + crash stage + graffiti + music + influence + "SPRITE ICE" = commercial.

Oooo, I like.... Today was kinda cool-heaty. Whatever. Had a good walk from Suntec to Clarke Quay. Oh yeah, 166 bus rides get more and more fun. The bus broke down today. Got a free ride, compliments from SBS Transit. Interesting eh?

Travel Bug

The need to travel seems to hit again. Okay, not need, but want. Its really too hot here. I don't complain when it rains, but, the heat's frying my brains... Watching Love Actually and all, sigh... London. Europe. North America. I want! Not in the near future. =(

Look at it this way, mom and dad are holidaying this year. 3 times in all. And I'm not on any one of those trips. Not that I mind, I get to have an empty house. Let's see, tomorrow they'll be gone till Saturday to KL. 7th-9th december they'll be at Cameron Highlands. 12th-21st Dec they'll be in Australia, doing a pan-Australia free and easy holiday. Perth, Cairns, Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide.... And I'm stuck in this, this heat hole. Cold weather, that's what I'd like though. I wouldn't mind if the temperatures here dropped...

My time will come, one day. Soon. Some time soon. Just wait patiently. It'll come, for sure.

Now, we wait till 5 for our extra econs lecture. Bleah....

Useless websites

Okay, I shall try to look at this positively. =)

I'm trying to do research for the DVPA CA1, which we are supposed to select a soft drink and well, make a story board of the commercial. Yep. And yeah, we're supposed to make it hip and fun so it'll be targeted at teenagers. No use doing the likes of Coca-Cola or Pepsi since they're fiercely marketed brands/products and our concepts would look pathetic compared to the professionals. Anyway, yeah, so I chose Sprite Lemon Storm.

Now, it is extremely hard to get, firstly, a picture of the bloody bottle. Secondly, there's no information about Sprite Lemon Storm on the Sprite website. All there is on the main Sprite website is this hiphop stuff that has no relation to Sprite's products. And then the Singapore Sprite site, worse still. Just some competition thingy. Like, WT_? Looks like I'll have to settle for something like Sprite Ice or those Sprite Remixes from the USA eh? Hmmm.... Concept on the other hand, now I need a concept....

Oh bother...... Make up for econs, at an unearthly hour of 5pm on a Wednesday. Wednesday is GEMs (General Elective Module) day, which means all fixed lessons end at 12. For those who have chosen to have GEMs on Wednesday (over say, Thursday or Tuesday), the GEM is at 1.00pm to 3.00pm. Not too bad for those who DO have GEMs. What about those who DON'T have GEMs? 5 hour break again eh? Aiks...

IVP was a fun lesson today. Like, how do you go pro-censorship? Geez... I'm more like anti-censorship. Let's make some choices eh? Uhm, I think its more towards letting the public make the choices regarding the films they watch, be it like, uhm, how do I say this...? Be it semi-political (am I allowed to say semi-political? 0_0 ) or what-not. Oh yeah, and we are supposed to set up a group blog. Like how cool's that? Heheh. The group's name is OHP. Yeah, we got that from starring at an Over Head Projector, how cool eh? ;)

Christmas spirit and Orchard light up

Okay, the headache is gone now. Thank goodness. Went out with parent's friends for dinner at Muthu's curry. Its in Little india, on Race Course Road. Don't be fooled by the name, its not one of those non-air-conditioned, by-the-roadside coffee shops. its a real high-class, almost upper end restaurant. But they serve the traditional indian food like the above mentioned non-air-conditioned, by-the-roadside coffee shop.

Big dinner. Briyanni, Naan, cabbage, masala chicken, fried mutton, curry, spinach and cheese... Whooo!

And then after that, dad drove down Orchard Road. Nice light ups this year. Should go take some pictures one day, and then post them up here. =D Anyway, the light ups bring Christmas cheer... in November! Yeehaw! can I skip school? Lol. Too sad, we don't have winter here... I'm kinda wishing I were in the North American region where they actually have white christmas'. Oh well, Esther, yer lucky! One day, one day, I will get to a temperate region. ;)

I won, I won!!!

Yeehaw! I won the bet, Mesh owes me a lunch now. ;)

Prediction as of today for next week's elimination: Jamie Newton

Also, now I can post at the We Heart Shaun blog, thanks to ZL. :D

Today, NW was kinda dry (as usual). FUNE, okay. At least we're getting somewhere at my understanding of the concepts. I haven't looked at the tutorial #2 yet though. I don't feel very much up to doing it today although I shoudl complete the homework before the Saturday-Sunday weekend. Sigh.... Damn this supposedly-on-coming flu. Sucks...

Anyway, Friday... Survivor day, so... Of course, I talk about Survivor. Episode 9, "Secrets and Lies and an Idol surprise", was a good one. The reward challenge, that was interesting. Jamie, hmmm... Did he mean that? I'm keeping my eye on you. And don't forget, Steph wants to get you off. Beware. Immunity was good, knew Rafe would mess up on the rope crossing thing. He jsut can't handle that. But he gave JAMIE the immunity. Sucks!

Episode 10: Sleeping and Eating with the enemy
Episode 11: Everything is personal

Episode 10
I think this has got to do with the Yax against the Naks. Do Danni and Gary feel left out, minorit-alised? Or do they manage to break into the Nakum alliance. I'd think not. But, I need the web teasers to get on with this.

Episdoe 11
Sounds like Judd again. Or does someone have a grudge that they attack someone personally? Is this Judd's exit? Or Jamie? Hmmm.... Food for thought.

Reflection Pool

Have been in a rather reflective mood the last few hours of this day. =D

Okay, let me start with the 80's. Yes, the decade I was born in. Techno orginated from the 80's. Cool eh? Oh yeah, I'm one of them few peeps who can STAND techno music. Another one who I know can do so is WJ. I dunno, but techno to me is okay and I DON'T get headaches. As of now I am listening to the track "Numa Numa" by O-zone. Yes, the one that was famous for the "Numa Numa Dance" and the new Chicken Little movie adverts.

From Wikipedia:
Techno was primarily developed in basement studios by "The Belleville Three", a cadre of African-American men who were attending college, at the time, near Detroit, Michigan. The budding musicians – former high school friends and mixtape traders Juan Atkins, Derrick May, and Kevin Saunderson – found inspiration in Midnight Funk Association, an eclectic, 5-hour, late-night radio program hosted on various Detroit radio stations including WCHB, WGPR, and WJLB-FM from 1977 through the mid-1980s by DJ Charles "The Electrifying Mojo" Johnson. Mojo's show featured heavy doses of electronic sounds from the likes of George Clinton, Kraftwerk, and Tangerine Dream, among others.

Oh yeah, my ringtone is a techno track too. ;) Anthem Groove. Rocks!

If you could change ONE thing in the past what would it be?
I wouldn't change anything but the fact that I should have played more sports, been more active and kept more fit when I was in primary school. That's the one thing I would change. I wouldn't ever change going to GMSS, or certain other things which I would rather not highlight at the moment.

Okay, enough reflection for tonight. And I must've updated too much already.... Happy reading whoever visits. Thanks for taking time to read. =D

Nike

The Air Pegasus, decided to get an image of the shoe and put it on here. But the colours are wrong, mine's not that colour. And I can' get mine on www.nikerunning.com . Mine is black, white and orange. And apparently, its under footwear for serious runners. Woo.... 0_0 Serious runners eh? Cool.

Anyway, today, uh, was an okay day. =D Started with an Econs lecture, kinda got lost again. Sigh, oh well. Supply and demand. I need to get those laws grounded in my head. Weekend homework? Arghhhh....

Law of supply:
Increase in price of good X -> Increase in quantity supply for good X?

Is that it?

Spinning. I do understand teh graphs and how to draw 'em, but now I need to figure out which results in an upward/downward movement and which results in a rightward/leftward movement. Okay, this is sounding very technical now isn't it? Bah....

DVPA. Yeah, today we got to handle the cameras. Yeehaw! Okay, my group (Arisya, Gajan, Alison, Regina) was totally whacked. Our recordings were lame and all, heheh. But it was FUN to handle the camera and all. Whooo!!! Studio recordings, I think they'd look good. Can't wait till we get started on CA3 (Continual Assesment 3) which is the group project. I guess I could be the script writer eh? Unless you guys decide I'm suitable for something else.

IPRA. Oh my gosh... This tutorial was boring and lame. I could've slept through it. ZzZzZzZz.......
Some of 'em would compare it to OC. Oh well... New OC then. OH, and the CA brief. The project itself is due in week 7. Andrew said he'd give out the brief in teh next 2 weeks. This is already week 2, if say, at the most, he gives it in 2 weeks time, it'll be week 4.... Meaning, we have only 3 weeks to do the project. Oh bother.

This is not the time to start getting stressed. Already it seems as though I'm getting the flu of some sort and all. Gah. Water, vitamins, vegetables.

Risk

Song of today: Swear It Againg [Westlife]

I dunno, heard this song on the TV during a commercial and thought it nice. =D

I wanna know
Who ever told you I was letting go
Of the only joy that I have ever known
Girl, they're lying

Just look around
And all of the people that we used to know
Have just given up, they wanna let it go
But we're still trying

So you should know this love we share was never made to die
I'm glad we're on this one way street just you and I
Just you and I

Chorus:
I'm never gonna say goodbye
Cos I never wanna see you cry
I swore to you my love would remain
And I swear it all over again and I
I'm never gonna treat you bad
Cos I never wanna see you sad
I swore to share your joy and your pain
And I swear it all over again

All over again
Some people say
That everything has got its place in time
Even the day must give way to the night
But I'm not buying
Cos in your eyes
I see a love that burns eternally
And if you see how beautiful you are to me
You'll know I'm not lying

Sure there'll be times we wanna say goodbye
But even if we try
There are something's in this life won't be denied
Won't be denied

Chorus

The more I know of you is the more I know I love you
And the more that I'm sure I want you forever and ever more
The more that you love me, the more that I know
Oh that I'm never gonna let you go
Gotta let you know that I

Chorus

Hmmm, today WP was kinda dry. Distracted easily cause she took so long to go through 4 questions. What did we do? Go through 4 questions, go through the 3 HTML exercises and project brief. I like the project. Its due next year. Heheh. I hope I can do well in this one module. Mesh, Ifah and I... Yep, lets go do this yeah? This project thing.

And GEM. Accents and Slang, the differences between American English and British English. And we also talked about Singlish. Now I hate the very essence of Singlish and I wish not to be identified with such a horrendous make-up. The way some Singaporeans pronounce things also irks me no end. Like take for instance, the word "monopoly".

Singaporean: Moe-Know-Poe-Lee
Others: Mern-Op-Per-Lee

Syllable-timed verse stress-timed. I'm for stress-timed. The difference is shown above. Ah well, pet peeve?

Played "Risk" with mom and Frederick tonight. I won! Yeehaw! First time? Heheh. Oh yeah, I conquered Asia and Australia for most of the game so that earned me an extra 9 soldiers. Asia has 12 regions and Australia 4, so that's 16 already. Divide that by 3, you get about 5. So I get 5 and 9 soldiers, a total of 14 AT LEAST. Cool eh? ;) Oh well, remember those days I used to spend time in front of the computer playing Red Alert 2 or Yuri's Revenge. Those were the days eh? Time does fly by, lol.

Today was generally a good day. Rather hot though. Sweltering. Tomorrow Uncle Marcel and Aunty Audrey are coming down. Cool!

Homework:
- Econs - I have no idea how to answer questions 4 and 5 in tutorial 1
- DVPA - I think I'm going for Sprite Lemon Storm. Creative juices need to start flowing, I think I've sort of a vague idea for the story board. Need to go hunt for commercials and watch.

Shout Outs:
Dak: Heya, hope school's goin good for ya.
Dame: Same old, same old? Everyday brings forth new things doncha say?
L: Hey cuz, cool. Yer rents are coming here. Thanks for heads up on the song title.

New Modules

Song of today: All The Things She Said (Instrumental) [t.A.T.u.]

The instrumental version of "All The Things She Said" is nice. Essentially, its a minus-one track. But well, good background music to me I guess. Heh. DVPA is in town!!!

Inovation, Design & Enterprise in Action - MS. Olivia Koh - IDEAs module by itself is, uhm, a kinda waste of time. Sure, you (SP and Ministry) want us to be creative, and more often than not, DMC students are. But like inventing a whole new product, gah... Time robber... I'd rather you give us a module that would be more hands on for us, like the drama side of CC or something. However, Olivia is a nice lady, she asks us to call her Miss O.K. Lol. And she said she has amnesia at times. This morning I was early, and since was the only guy at class that time, asked me to help her carry that "tray" full of stuff to the classroom from her office. She called me "strong man" after that.... 0_0 Uh, thanks. But I need more work to be really toned up y'know?

Digital Video Production & Application - Ms. Doris Nga - Ms. Nga's lesson again! I think this module is the one all of us have been waiting for. Finally, we can get down and dirty into video production and sorts. When I first saw the module overview online, I was kinda shocked. But now I think I can and will be able to handle this course. Oh come on, I gotta do well... Why? Sticky issue... I'm not too happy about it either. I wish it weren't this way, but SHIT SHERYL KAN! Anyway, today was the tripod lesson. Haha, and, uhm, the "global tripod competition" was in its finals? Lol.

IPRA was sucky as usual. Andrew Ang puts everyone to bed. Waited 2 hours just for a 30 minute lecture. Okay, I shouldn't be complaining. God, I complain too much. Let me be more positive about things, why the hell am I so negative??? Okay, it was good. Although we waited 2 hours, we got off from the lecture early, we could go home and stuff. That sounds better! =)

Also, finally I might be breaking the "figure and ground" whatever-you-call-it. Last night I came back from running and walked into the prep hall, and I ACTUALLY LOOKED UP. Now I need ta smile at them people when I walk in. There are never enough smiles in the world, never enough happiness. A smile can go a mile. No wonder I was "Smiley Guy" in secondary school. Heck whatever anyone thought or will think, I'm gonna be thick skinned! Smile smile!

One can never be too positive. Change yer outlook Jon, make it positive and you'll be a better person. You've seen what positiveness can do, now work on yerself. Yeah, yeah. =) Look at things positively and you'll see that they become better. Why look at the bad when it can be seen in a different light eh? Make a change, take a chance, take a risk. Make a change, make life better. Thanks to all those who've shown me what a positive outlook can do. It feels rather good now.

About change in diet....
- 1 bowl of cereal before school
- Fruits?
- Light lunches
- Less carbos during dinner

Exercise routine...
- Running
- Running
- Running

Nad and I are gonna kick start it this Friday instead, since we can't find a time where WJ, Nad and I can all be free. Yeehaw! I love running. I've yet to measure weight today. Lets hope that I can implement these changes and get fitter. =)

Lost (No, not the TV show)

Aight, this is gonna be the first full week of school. =D
Tomorrow there's the IDEA module, DVPA and IPRA lecture again (snoozefest!). And Dione and I will be doing our econs question tomorrow. Sigh. Econs. Lecture was bad today, our notes weren't there and so like, we were totally lost cause I had ta take notes AND listen at the same time. And Lusia goes through quite fast. Bleah. I need to catch up. And she uses so many short forms, like DD, QD, P, Y. What the heck! I sympathise with people doing full blown econs. This is only the FUNDAMENTALS of Economics, lecture 2 and I'm lost already. Arrghh!!!

Anyway, moving on. I went running tonight (yay!). And Nad and I are arranging some running sessions. =D Wednesdays. Yeah... Now, I need to work on altering my diet. Hmmm. Cut down on carbos. I hafta work on that this week. I have a few ideas at the moment. I need to get mom to buy cereal. Cool, I'm a health nut............ =_=

Other than that, hmm, I'd say today was a good start of the week. No Monday blues whatsoever. Heheh. Oh, but its darn HOT... The heat is... Unbearable? Like, it rained in the night and the morning was rather wet (looked like it was gonna pour) yet the NW room which was freezing by others' standards (not mine) last week, wasn't even cold this morning. I want snow, I want cold weather!!! Lol. I am demanding eh? Sigh....

Shout outs:
GMSS Sec 4s: Good Luck with the O's!
Dak: Heya, good yer doin good.
Dame: Yo, great to know that yer keepin' good.
Kenny Choo: Happy Birthday Yo!
Kathy: Cuz! Happy Birthday yo!

In the event of emergency...

Song of today: All About Us [t.A.T.u]

They
Say
They don't
Trust
You
Me
We
Us

So we'll
Fall
If we
Must'cause it's you
Me
And it's all about
It's all about

It's all about us
All about us
It's all about
All about us
All about us
That's the thing that they can't touch
Cause you know

It's all about us
All about us
It's all about
All about us
All about us
We'll run away if we must
Cause you know

It's all about us
It's all about us
It's all about us
In you I can trust
All about us
It's all about us

If
They
Hurt
You
They
Hurt
Me
Too

So
We'll
Rise
Up
Won't
Stop
And it's all about
It's all about

It's all about us
All about us
It's all about
All about us
All about us
That's the thing that they can't touch
Cause you know

It's all about us
All about us
It's all about
All about us
All about us
We'll run away if we must
Cause you know

It's all about us
It's all about us
It's all about us
In you I can trust
All about us
It's all about us
They don't know
They can't see
Who we are
Fear is the enemy
Hold on tight
Hold on to me
'Cause tonight

It's all about us
All about us
It's all about
All about us
All about us
That's the thing that they can't touch
Cause you know

It's all about us
All about us
It's all about
All about us
All about us
We'll run away if we must
Cause you know

It's all about us
It's all about us
It's all about us
In you I can trust
All about us
It's all about us

Haha, serves dad right. He read ZL's blog yesterday well I was on the computer and thought it was MINE. Hahaha! He asked about the guy who came in the class and I'm like, "What are you talking about???" Read some more dad? Busy body.

Last night was fun. Darren had a van so cell went to Holland Vee for dinner. Ate BK, the English Chicken sandwich. Its rather dry, more mayo needed... Then went to Commonwealth for desert. The van ride was the most interesting thing, cause it was a goods van and there were 6 "goods" in the back compartment. Yes, I was a "good" for a day. Lol. More like we were "illegal immigrants" but with Singaporean ICs (Identity Cards).

Then there was the Traffic Police... And since it was not a passenger van, passengers are not allowed in the goods compartment. So, DUCK!!!

"In the event of emergency, place head on the lap and wait till the all clear signal is given."

That reminds me of the show cjicken run, the part where the hen coop is flying away. "In event of emergency, place your head between your legs and kiss your butt goodbye!" Lol! Then the emergency break was another funny thing. There are two wheel covers and two people were sitting on it. Darren hit the brake and Siew Weng who was sitting on one of the covers flew into Varina who slammed Wai Wai into the trolley. Talk about domino effect eh? Lol.

Interesting journey indeed. I reached home at 0031. Haha. Cool.

Back to school version 3

Back to school again. Yeah. Weird week. School, break, school, break, school. News Writing and Fundamentals Of Econs today. Four hours, early release. Wet weather, air conditioning was good. Loved it, others hated it.

News Writing was rather dry today. Its getting technical and I dunno, I might not like it that much. Claire does try to make it fun though.

Fundamentals Of Economics, had the first tutorial today. Got to know Lusia a bit. Uhm, I don't wanna get into her bad books. Wouldn't be good. Heard from Mark that she likes to scold a lot. Go figure. Like I said on Monday, very prim, very proper. Please let me get a B...

I looked at the course documents, the file that detailed the course and its schedule for Digital Video Production and Application (DVPA). That's a heck of a lot more stuff than I am familiar with, scares me a bit. Hope I don't flunk it. Gah... Studio productions, lighting. Individual projects moreover.... =/

I can't think straight right now, my mind's too jumbled up. Lemme go clear it.

Break again

Happy Hari Raya all. I'm tired again. Musta slept a lot today though, spent the whole afternoon sleeping. Till my mom got mad cause she wanted to go out and in the end I didn't go. Sigh.

Has anyone realised how hard it is to save money during term time at Poly? I try to tell my mom but she don't listen. $50/week is just not enough. I', outta cash as it is already, thank goodness tomorrow we end at 12 so I can go home and eat. =D

Otherwise... Sigh. I can't save. Its just bewildering the way you spend money... Eating, bills... And at the end of the week you've spent $50 already. And mom tells me I have to manage. Sigh. No wonder my bank account has very little money. I'm not gonna touch the money in there, I'm not gonna touch the money in there, I'm not gonna touch the money in there!

Also, the past few days have been freakin' hot although its supposed to be the monsoon season right now. Bah. Hot, hot, hot... I want cold weather for a change, don't care if it rains or what not, just give me cooler temperatures. Or give me air conditioning at night. Its stiffling at night, bleah.

Man U lost to someone... Again.. Dang.

Survivor is on tomorrow. Let me lose myself in it. Till next time..............

Back to school version two

Today feels rather "meh". I'm tired... Mom and dad went who-knows-where cause she was talking to me when I was sleeping and I answered her "mmmmh..." Great. So I'm stuck at home alone with chicken wings to barbeque. How nice, heh. I feel groggy right now...

Web Publishing - Pauline Koong Chan - She seems funky. Uhm, rather hands on and we were left to do HTML on our own. Cool, cause I kinda made the Cafe blog more readeable now. Oh, and I learnt how to do the "Copyright" code. And marquee from Arisya. Looking around for scroll now.

Cross Cultural Communication - Tan Peng Peng - This was a taste of what "real" high school is like. I am SO deprived I tell you. Its a GEM (General Elective Module) class which means anyone from any school (Electronics, Business, etc) can take this class. You get people from landscaping, creative media and all. I didn't realise it but, I know one person who happened to be my senior in secondary school and who is now in the class. But, back to high school. Like, its a new class, no one you know, that sorta thing. We need an American-ised high school system here. The "O" Levels method is defunct. You feel bad when you go to a class and yer tutor tells ya "they're your age when they get to University". Bah! Anyway, Peng Peng is cool. She tried and tries to make class fun.

Pretty uneventful day. School. Home. Sleep. Eat. That's about it.

Wants?

Aight, firstly, let me get the survivor analysis done and over with. =D

Episode 8: The Hidden Immunity Idol

- Tribes merge to Xhakum tribe (pronounced as Sha-koom)

Gary: I have a feeling yer gone this episode. I think I'll keep voting for you till you go out. I don't think you'll revert to the old Yaxha tribe alliance. There may be a lot of politicking. Come on, get out so Mesh will hafta treat me to lunch!
Jamie: I think yer second out. At any rate, I'm giving you two episodes more, and by episode 10 I don't wanna see ya on. Except jury duty of course... You don't have enough people skills for the game. Are you happy yer top 8 as you predicted?
Bobby Jon: Hapy you made merge? Happy I predict yer second jury member? You've got a target on yer back and congrats on making it to the merge!
Brandon: I think yer gonna be the 4th ousted from the Xhakum tribe. Yer a physical threat to them guys and I see them voting off the threats early on. What I see is Rafe and Lydia and maybe Cindy banding with Danni, Judd and Steph. Either Judd and Steph will win the immunities to grab it from the above mentioned 4 so that you can be voted off. Then its cannibalising.
Judd: Your ignorance will be your demise... Man.
Cindy: This is the hard part, thinking of where to place everyone in the boot order now. Yer the first to go of the remaining five.
Steph: No way they'll let ya win.
Lydia: Rafe has brains he'll use 'em.
Rafe and Danni: Final 2? I dunno. I'm randoming going.

Sigh... There's so many things you can and will want in life eh? Oh well... I wish, I want. Its natural. Here's some of mine...
I wish I were more fit than I am and less lazy to exercise (Wei Jie, group exercise? lol)
I wish I had $2000 which I could use on a holiday to North America. (JP, willing to host still? Ava?)
If I could change things about myself physically, I'd wanna change my hair (hate the curly wig) and my height (damn I'm short).
I wish I had a Canon Ixus, keep remembering every time the ads play (ah well, what to do?).

Rambled on enough. Now I need to shut up.

-LIVESTRONG!-

Back to school

Statement: Parents are suckers.
Do you agree or do you not agree? =P

Yes they are at times. Today my rents are suckers. Big time suckers. Yep. Silly fools. Mom and I have a sort of argument about going out tonight. Why? Cause dad forgets he has dinner duty at 6.30pm and at 6pm mom's hustled all of us out of the house. She shut down the com well I was changing and so my IM convos with L and Nic were closed without my seeing what was said (thanks a lot lady!). I would have told them bye and all and shut down. Anyway, soon after, dad realises that he has dinner duty. He wants to go back and mom says no, we'll all go buy dinner home. Sucker!

What's the use of ALL of us going out and buying dinner HOME. And then she asks me to cut onions for her with the excuse she's tired. I decline, I have a choice. I am tired too, slept about 2 hours plus this evening. But no, she gives me a choice and gets mad when I decline. The keyword is "choice". Get it? Oh well, what can I do right?

Anyway, back to school today. DMC1B05. 20 students. 1 PTN. Two new additions, a tranferee and a repeatee. Lol, as if there's "transferee" or "repeatee". Anyway, Jonathan Chan is repeating this sem's modules and Mei Ling transfered in from 01. Haha, welcome to DMC05, the friendliest DMC class (and may I add, class of the year). Lol.

News Writing - Claire Ng - She's new, yeah, but she seems to know what she's talking about. Look forward to her classes.

Fundamentals Of Economics - Tan Lusia - Taking us for both lectures and tutorials, seems rather temperamental, no nonsense, no fun type. Very prim, very proper. I don't think I like her. What I heard from other(s) is that she may be insecure. When you get an MC she thinks you don't want to attend her class. She also berates you when you do things wrong. Then again, I was talking to someone who didn't do well...

Introduction to Public Relations and Advertising - Andrew Ang - Snoozefest! Like FUNE, he's taking us for both lectures and tutorials. I nearly fell asleep in lecture one. Bah. You talk too much. Possibly has a worse sleep inducing voice than Kam Lin. Yeck!

Issues and Viewpoints - Sanjay Perera - I like him. He's taught in Canada too! Eh! Lol. Lemme field him questions about tertiary education there. Oh, he's from Vancouver, I gather, great! Ava's side. Heheh. But he makes a dry, dull 3 hour tutorial fun. Coolness! Going to be possibly one of my favourite modules this sem.

Nicole, Dione, Alison, Ifah, Arisya, See Jun, Xin Le, Kamesh, Wei Jie, Zhao Jie, Shaun, Gajan, Kay Miang, Reg, Nad, Zhi Li & Carol, good to see you guys after a month. =D

Shout outs:
Dak: Happy Halloween dude. Hope you had a good day back home. Enjoy yerself and don't fall sick. ;)
Dame: Hope you had a good halloween yerself. Must've been fun yer side.
Fano: Hope, that's something I was telling L she needs. We'll get scarecrow boy yet eh? ;)
L: Just cling onto hope. Take it easy, don't expect much and you won't be dissapointed. It can work either way, for good or for bad. Lt it take its course, cry as much as you need. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger (from someone you know). Hugs cuz.
