Time Table Troubles

Thanks to ZL, I found out that our Year 2 Semester 1 time table is out. The verdict: it sucks!

Monday's classes: 8am to 1pm, 2pm to 3pm, 4pm to 6pm (SDFTV)
Tuesday's classes: 9am to 11am, 1pm to 4pm, 4pm to 6pm (SDFTV)
Wednesday's class: 8am to 10am (yeehaw!)
Thursday's classes: 11am to 1pm, 3pm to 5pm
Friday's classes: 9am to 12pm, 3pm to 5pm

This excludes General Elective Module (GEM) class. Ah phuey! (Ah shucks, and SHE had to show up! Jealous)

4. 8. 15. 16. 23. 42.

What do those numbers mean? That's right!
They're the magiv 6 numbers of LOST. And if you add them up, I think it totals 108 (the number the number flipper thing in the undergound place flipped back to after keying them into the computer).

Okay, that was a lengthy explanation. Anyway, the story is kinda complicated with its twists and turns. So Jack, Locke and Kate are down the hatch, shaft and all and into Desmond's place. Aight.

And then we have Sawyer, Jin and Michael who have come back to the island after ship wrecking. Aight.

And Shannon claims she saw Walt or a ghost of him at least. Aight.

And Jin finds some people he assumes are the "others". Aight.

Okay, story seems clearer now. I need to go read my LOST story. Does this season's first 2 episodes seem like some sort of thriller/horror show movie to anyone? Lol. That shot of Vincent in the jungle, oh my heck!

This is where the game begins...

5. 4. 3. 2. 1.
Cue music.
< Idol theme starts >
< Flash final contestants >
Music down.

This. Is where the game begins.

From a selection of 40 odds, down to 20. And, I'm not talking about Idol. Meh.

Anyway, yesterday I learnt and put to practice how to use a binder. Heh. Its like operating a guillotine. The kkkkkeeeeeeeeraaaaaaaaaahk sound as the punchers chew through the paper sounds like bones breaking. Pulling the handle down each time is like letting the blade of death drop. Okay, so, I'm dramatising stuff. I get carried away eh? Today's pretty much empty and still. Just did a list to review the work I've got left and I realised its quite a bit. I better start writing out those intruction lists, clear up the sales kit by tomorrow.

Then I can move on to finish the JKIDS and MFB e-promos and end with the brochure. I've got 2 weeks left to do it all. I can't believe I've worked my holidays away. 6 weeks! Damn. And I'm still thinking, one year or two years. Both have pros and cons. What about next year during inter semester break eh? Gah! Too early to say.

What? Who?

American Idol.

What?
What happened to the contestants. Its liek they gave up competing or they all decided to do a bad performance. Very much like a CONCERT for me, not a competition. Just come, sing your stuff and go off. Not engaging the audience at all. Bleah.

Who?
Who IS Mandisa? I never knew such a person existed on American Idol's top 12 until today. Is she seriously lacking personality???

Okay, so today I learnt how to use the photoshop brush feature. Its cool. I have polaroid photos now! Yeehaw! And if I want, I can always make my own blog skins. Of course, just a basic one. But still. Heheh. Thanks to Zhili who has been helping out with stuff. Yup, she helped me some. Anyway, here's a polaroided photo for you.

Flying

I just checked out Zuji.com for the prices for air tickets so I know how mcuh I would need to save before I can go travelling.

Return tickets from SIN to YVR (Vancouver) via Portland is $1700+. That's the cheapest and it's with North West Airlines. And that's for the month of June 2006.

Return tickets from SIN to YYZ (Toronto) via Tokyo and Detroit is $2300+. That's the cheapest and also with North West Airlines. Also for June 2006.

My previous goal was $3,000 in the bank. Looking at the rates now, my target has to be at least $5,000. Accomplishable? Definitely. So that's where I'm aiming for.

Simply Sushi

Yesterday we went to Sakae Sushi at Marina Square. Heh, it was cool. We ate a LOT of sushi and chalked up a big bill. I also realised, I have a thing for glass bottles these days. I mean, I like collecting them. Let's face it, I have a glass Thai coke bottle (still with the coke), a Passionfruit Esprit bottle, a Lemon Lime Esprit bottle sitting on my table. Heheh. My bottle collection. I need the strawberry, blueberry, raspberry Esprit bottles now!

Lol. Its nice to collect stuff like this. I still have that Slizer too. Memories eh? Anyway, back to sushi. Ate... And ate... And ate. Till we were so full. Then we STILL had left over sushi and since they charge for unfinished food... We had to eat up or be punished with surcharges.

After sushi-ing, we walked down the bayside to the Benjamin Shears Bridge before heading to the Esplanade for fondued Strawberries and Marshmellows. After heading home and a shower, I dropped on my rent's bed and fell asleep since. I think the lack of sleep has been taking its toll on me. Heh. Its so nice to sleep and SLEEP IN! Of which I do not do these days, sadly... Bah...

Surprised and group naming

A special note of thanks to all those who have tagged in my defense. Thanks a lot guys! =)) Y'all prolly did one of the most surprising things in mah life. Lol.
Arisya, WJ, Yessie, Fano & Yamu

I am happy, tomorrow is my half day leave. Gotta run around a bit, school (if I get the letter tomorrow) and to the CPMB. Then gotta meet the "group" at 3.30 at City Hall cause we're gonna eat sushi. Woohoo! Sakae buffet, nice. A lil cheaper after our Fish & co experience. And this time, I can bring that camera which my-mom-is-so-in-love-with. Heheh/

Last night it was "cell" eating dinner at Mad Jack's. Their cakes are kinda good. Heh. And the chicken wasn't bad either. Fullness. Heh.

Okay, I really think "cell" and the "group" need names, heheh. Its so weird to call them nameless things, heheh. food for discussion tomorrow yo!

Yessie, I've linked yer LJ now.

Connect 06

[Current Music: Jason Mraz - Geek in the pink]

ARISYA! This song is friggin nice! OMG! No wonder yer Mraz-owned. Lol. Funkay, rockin' to tha beat. Geek in the pink, get it, it rocks.

Connect 06 coming soon y'all. Sounds like fun cause its our year to organise it. Sounds tempting. I'm wondering if I should go ahead and say I wanna contribute, can I handle it? I mean, all the stuff goin on in the upcoming year. Actually, just thinking about it, I shouldn't miss any opportunity...

Oh well, I'll consider. Weijie said the theme may be retro. Ah, the Ignyte party was retro themed. teams were like disco, flower power, funkadlic, yeah, stuff like that. Heheh. And we played Project Retro Runway. Kinda fun I'd say. If connect06 were to follow last year's format of there being a judging, well... We could have a runway show. Lol.

Hmmmm, sounds REALLY interesting man. Let's go see what we can do.

Mumble jumble

Current music: Cher - I Believe
Current mood: Bored, Nostalgic

Hmmm, upcoming birthdays. Shwee, Arisya, CB. I'm just thinking back to the good ole times while thinking of some ideas for a corporate website and what stuff to put in it. The techno mix of Cher's I Believe is playing at the moment.

Music is sometimes a transport through time, is it not? As you can see, I'm having some heavy thoughts now. What influenced it? Our song choice is often based on our feelings. Heh. Like, you listen to loud, depressing music when you are down or upset. Avril Lavigne for instance. And dancy music when yer high.

Maybe music with a good consistent beat but rather slow when yer mostalgic like right now for me.

C'est la vie eh?

A few random notes:
  • I want to learn French, not Mandarin
  • I think I talk too much and am a loud mouth in that sense, so, forgive me anyone who I have irked and irritated

The Survivor Challenge

Its so hard to get noodles anywhere here! Pffft! There was one noodle shop, but its been closed for like what? Over a week? Heh. And I'm trying to eat noodles instead of rice. I figure they're lighter. Well, at least nowdays I don't feel sleepy after eating lunch at work. Heh.

I wonder how those castaways manage to Survive the way they do on Survivor. I mean, damn, they don't get food or water for several days if they can't get anything. And then there are those physical challenges to do too. Hmmm....

Oh well. I wonder if I could ever do something like that. We've a month before school begins, do we have 39 days? The answer: No. Only 28 or 26, somewhere around there, forgot exactly how many. Ah well. Stay off fast food. =))

You're a Superstar

I was just listening to my collection of songs... Remembered this song. Heh. =))

Reach for the sky and hold your head up high,
For tonight and everynight, you're a superstar.
And don't you be afraid,
Think of all the friends you've made,
Like any other night you've got your name in lights,
You're a superstar.

In a world that gives everything,
Don't you know that it don't mean a thing at all, at all for a superstar.
You gotta find a raindow,
Tell the world what everyone else knows,
Don't let them tell you again about life,
Cause you know You're a superstar.

So reach for the sky and hold your head up high,
For tonight and everynight you're a superstar.
And don't you be afraid,
Think of all the friends you've made,
Like any other night you've got your name in lights,
You're a superstar.

Everything you are today, Is what you want to be.
So don't be someone else when you be the best so easily.
If you try, and believe, my baby you'll succeed,
And your eyes will make you see,
You're a superstar.

So reach for the sky and hold your head up high,
For tonight and everynight you're a superstar.
So don't you be afraid,
Think of all the friends you've made,
Like any other night you've got your name in lights,
You're a superstar.

Survivor 13: Cook Islands - Islands of Mutiny?

ETA: Durn photo upload thing won't work now. Map later.

Okay, reports have come in that S13 will probably be in the Cook Islands. that's about off New Zealand by 2,000km and near Nuku Hiva which was used for Survivor 4: Marquesas. Hmm, there was a mutiny on the group of islands and yeah, so that could be the theme of the season which would make it really like a Pearl Islands redux... I'm going to assume that S14 will be produced somewhere close by since that'd make it easier for the crew to go round.

I hope that they don't do too many twists and select a good cast. I retract my earlier statements that Shane and Cirie are probably the worst casting decisions. Shane is entertaining although I do not like him wearing that Livestrong band at the moment. Cirie gives good confessionals. Apart from that, teh cast is pretty blah. terry is okay, but he seems like Tom's shadow. I don't mind him. I think Aras may win it all, if he can engineer his tribe to pick off the La Mina gang.

Predictable... I much prefered Guatemala to this Panama-shit. The 4 tribes thing was good while it lasted. It went downhill from there, and has yet to redeem itself for me. Panama, its just too sickening. Casya may be good for drama and La Mina, well, lurve tribe eh? Its the inverted Palau. I mean, in Palau, the urve tribe was Koror who won every challenge for immunity. Here, La Mina is the lurve tribe that didn't win all the immunties. How blah.

Anyway, enough PANAMA! Cook Islands was also a leper colony. But the more outstanding theme of the location would be the mutiny one. How would you like it to be called "Survivor: Cook Islands - Island of Lepers"? That would totally be killing the islands as people would think that lepers still exisited there and would therefore avoid the islands.

Countries allow Survivor to film there to boost their tourism, not to kill it. Its pretty obvious that helps. I once saw someone write into the Sunday Times newspaper about asking for advice on how to get to Vanuatu after watching Survivor. This is only Asia, imagine how about the others around the world who watch the series. America, Canada, Australia, Malaysia, Hong Kong... The list goes on, and yes, even in Pakistan I think, they have Survivor.

Let's wait and see. CBS, give ma a good cast please. Oh, and by the way, Bruce SUCKS!

How I lost my phone

Okay, so we just got back from KL and I'm already in the office, like, an hour later. Anyway, L and David, I had a great day yesterday. Thanks for all the fun guys, love ya both man. Heheh. Vin, Yin and Ting, was good to see you guys too, haha. It was fun going to the "mamak" shop eh?

Okay, so yesterday was the only day that I could really enjoy stuff. Aunty Audrey dropped us off at MidValley and L had to buy a present for Aunty Bibi (sp?). After following her round, we ate at Rasa Ayamas. Frederick and I shared the steak set. Heh.

And on to bowling. I drank beer for the first time. Haha! Bowling was fun, but I ain't great at it. I ain't great at much stuff for the record... Loser... And yeah. MV's bowling alley was great. After walking around awhile, we headed off to Times Square.

There, Dave, Fred and I went to Cosmo world while L went to Border's book store. Haha. Here's how I lost my phone. We went for this ride, Space Attack which was two verticle arms which have horizontal seats at the bottom. Its a floorless ride and you sit in these seats with harnesses. And the arms revolve 360 degrees.

So yeah, while we were coming down one side, I saw something drop from the ride. I didn't think much about it till I thought the colour looked vaguely like my handphone (mobile, cell, what-you-may-call-it). And true enough, after checking after the ride, I was handphone-less. The outer screen (the one on the cover) had smashed. Most of the cover had broken so I threw that away. The keypad was still okay, but the battery was lost.

Thank goodness I still had the SIM card though (the card you need for your line). Probably very silly of me, but dad's going to buy me a new model. Oh yeah! Haha. It was a fun ride though. And thanks to Frederick too, who lent me his Sony Ericsson W500i today. =))

SHout Outs:
Dame: Busy? Haha, just got back today and I have quite a bit of stuff to do. Heh...
L: Thanks a lot for the day out.
Dave: Yo, thanks for going to TS and CW with us. It was fun, sorry I didn't have the guts for Super Sonic Odyssey (sp?).
Nana: It was good to see you Nan. Stay strong, eat well and drink lots of water. Good that Aunty Dot is down to help you. =))

NFS: Most Wanted

Recently, Frederick and I have been playing on the X-box quite a bit. Its fun, haha. Especially NFS: Most Wanted. I like the graffiti font they used for the title. Sigh. Almost caught up to Fred's level of his "career". Basically yer a street racer and you have to beat a list of black listed racers to advance yer career as a street racer.

Its cool. I'm just about one level away from Fred. Well, he did start his career earlier than me, so... My bounty with the cops in in excess of 200,000, which makes me pretty notorious with the Blacklist racers. My fines with the police exceed $10,000. I can't risk getting caught by them. I wouldn't mind earning more money and getting that new Audi car I've been eyeing.

My Chevrolette SS isn't bad though. I love how it slides when I steer. It looks pretty cool too. Metal blue with a flame design outlined in red on the flanks. Hot I'd say. But still, not as hot as some other stuff in life. ;)

All in all, NFS is sort of a retreat. At least I'm not bad at the game... Unlike some other stuff. Heh. Let's not go there aight?

L, see ya tomorrow. Bowling eh... Any other stuff we could do? Movie, like what? FD3? Mesh and Cawo said its not great...

Money issues and mini earthquakes

Hmmmm.... Okay, I won't really make much money from this job. More knowledge gain I guess. Oh well... I can't and won't complain. The offer was made to me, I didn't have to go through an interview or what not. Then there's the whole thing about the eNewsletter. No one seems to know how to do the HTML within the email thing.

I only managed it once and by goodness knows what chance? I was never ever able to get it to work again. Look at it this way I did something that IT people, lecturers, no one knows about. How it worked do not ask me. I need my As to give me the savings in the bank. I always say I'll wait and see if I can handle my term before talking about working. Ah bullshit.

Who'm I kidding eh? Myself. Basically, I'm paying $450 for all this knowledge or so. BUT, this job isn't bad I'd say. The peeps are friendly and I don't spend money on transport. Its a fair trade. I learn something not taught in classrooms, the peeps here get my ability to work.

The MRT tunnels of the future Circle line run pretty close to the building I work in. They're digging the retaining walls at the moment. The building kinda shuddered awhile ago. Probably the only time I'll feel something like an earthquake, heh. No, the building will NOT collapse. I'm sure of that. Ok, here's the shuddering again now. Haha. On the richter scale, maybe this is a 1.something or a low 2.something. Wishful thinking...
